On the day of 18th of June in the Institute of Turbomachinery dr Mehmet Çagrı Tüzemena form the Department of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, in Nevşehir, Turkey, presented a seminar titled: “Mechanical properties of functionally graded porous structures manufactured by selective laser melting”.
The seminar had explored metal additive manufacturing, functionally graded porous structures, and their mechanical properties. The cutting-edge topic combines advanced materials science with innovative production techniques, highlighting the unique characteristics and potential applications of these structures. By leveraging metal AM, it is possible to produce complex geometries with controlled porosity, which can be tailored to achieve specific mechanical properties and performance criteria. The seminar had covered various aspects, including the design, fabrication, and testing of these structures, as well as their potential uses in biomedical engineering.
We give our thanks to dr Tüzemen, and everyone who attended the seminar, and we encourage our students and employees to join the seminars we will organize in the future.
