Engineering excellence in practice: LRT awarded at Formula Student Poland

The Lodz Racing Team has won the prestigious Engineering Excellence Award at this year’s Formula Student Poland competition, held at the Autodrom Słomczyn. This distinction is granted to teams that demonstrate the highest level of engineering solutions, innovation, and project execution quality.

This year’s edition brought together the best student teams from Poland and abroad, competing in categories covering vehicle design, performance, technical documentation, and project presentation. The jury recognized the team’s project for its engineering maturity, coherent design concept, and the high level of refinement of key vehicle systems.

The justification emphasized that this year’s Lodz Racing Team car stands out due to its well‑thought‑out structural architecture, efficient use of composite materials, and modern solutions in aerodynamics and control systems. The team also presented high‑quality technical documentation, which is one of the key evaluation criteria in Formula Student competitions.

The achievement of our students is an important element in promoting engineering competencies, highlighting the role of the Institute of Turbomachinery in educating future engineers and creating an environment that supports ambitious student projects. It also confirms their commitment, teamwork skills, and consistent development of the project to a level meeting international standards.
