A team of our students from the GUST project has won the final of International Small Wind Turbine Contest 2023. The innovative wind turbine design made by them has earned the first place in the contest, defeating the teams from Canada, the Netherlands, Egypt and Denmark. It's a historical success for GUST, which returns to the first place on the podium in the general category of the contest and proves the quality and creativeness of Polish student's projects. As an additional accolade, the project also reached the highest efficiency for annual energy production (AEP). GUST returns to Poland with two out of the three main prizes in the contest.
The newest design from GUST has proven to be unmatched in terms of efficiency. The wind turbine has reached the highest efficiency ratio since its creation: Cp = 0,41, outperforming all other prototypes in the contest. This record is an outstanding achievement and a proof of the team's hard work and engagement.
the most impressive feature of the turbine is its ability to generate over 1kW of power with the wind speed of 13 m/s. This ability showcases the efficiency of the designed technology. GUST team will continue to work and improve their design, year after year proving that their work produces impressive results.
The GUST Team would like to express gratitude for all the support, help and trust we had received, which ultimately had lead us to the first place in this contest.
