Institute of Turbomachinery strengthens its research infrastructure thanks to funding from the Ministry

The Institute of Turbomachinery receives a grant! The purchase of an advanced data acquisition system is underway.

We are pleased to announce that Lodz University of Technology has concluded an agreement with the Minister of Science and Higher Education for the financing of an investment related to scientific activity. According to the agreement, the Institute of Turbomachinery has received a targeted grant of PLN 598,946.40 for the implementation of the project entitled “Universal Portable Data Acquisition System”.

 

The implementation of this undertaking is possible thanks to the initiative and commitment of Dr. hab. Eng. Jakub Łagodziński, the project leader and originator of the investment, who prepared the application and successfully secured funding for its execution.

 

The total value of the investment amounts to PLN 665,496.00, of which 90% is financed by the Ministry, while the remaining part will be covered from the University’s own funds.

 

The purchase includes a complete 24‑channel measurement system, a portable measurement computer with dedicated software, a set of sensors, and training in the operation of the equipment. The investment will be completed in 2026 and will be used in the research activities of the Institute, particularly in the fields of vibration analysis, acoustics, technical diagnostics, and turbomachinery studies.

 

The new equipment will enable advanced experimental research both in laboratory and field conditions, and will support the development of diagnostic methods for small wind turbines and other energy devices. It will also be used in projects carried out in cooperation with industry and in teaching, enhancing the competencies of students and doctoral candidates.

 

The acquired funding will significantly strengthen the research potential of the Institute of Turbomachinery and contribute to the development of modern technologies in the field of mechanical and energy engineering.
