Dr Piotr Reorowicz’s lecture dedicated to blood‑flow research at one of Europe’s leading academic centers.
As part of a teaching mobility under the Erasmus+ programme at the University of Padua, Dr Piotr Reorowicz from the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery at Lodz University of Technology delivered a seminar on 26 May 2026 entitled “Blood Flow Simulations Inside and Outside the Human Body”. The event was organised by the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Padua.
During his lecture, Dr Reorowicz presented research results concerning numerical simulations of blood flow both within the human circulatory system and in devices supporting cardiac function. His research activities include, among others, simulations of blood flow through ventricular assist devices, the design of mechanical heart valves for paediatric patients, modelling of pulsatile cardiac support systems, and studies of the interaction between blood flow and the elastic walls of arteries.
The seminar provided an opportunity to present research conducted at Lodz University of Technology and to exchange expertise with scholars representing one of Europe’s leading academic centres. Dr Reorowicz’s participation in the event confirms the international interest in the research carried out at the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery. The presented work contributes to the development of modern medical and biomechanical technologies aimed at improving methods of treating cardiovascular diseases and enhancing patients’ quality of life.
