On the day 2nd of July in the Institute of Turbomachinery mgr inż. Maciej Podsędkowski presented a seminar: "Variable pitch propeller mechanism optimization for drive play reduction."
During the seminar, the results of conducted studies were presented. They included analysis of the rotors of unmanned aerial vehicles, commonly known as drones. Studied rotors are equipped with a mechanism that allows them to change the tilt of their blades (Variable Pitch Propeller VPP). The results showed the methodology of rotor’s geometry optimization, to reduce the backlash in the system powering the VPP mechanism. The method designed enables significant reduction of hysteresis in a working mechanism, which increases the precision of blade’s tilt angle.
