In June 2026, Lodz will become the center of the international scientific community thanks to the 27th Fluid Mechanics Conference (FMC 2026), a prestigious event bringing together leading researchers, engineers, and specialists in the broad field of fluid mechanics.
Between 23 and 26 June 2026, the 27th Fluid Mechanics Conference (FMC 2026) will take place in Łódź — one of the most important scientific events in Poland dedicated to fluid mechanics. The conference is organized under the auspices of the Committee on Mechanics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and ERCOFTAC, and this year’s edition is hosted by Lodz University of Technology. Representatives of the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery are part of the organizing committees:

The conference programme also includes a semiplenary lecture delivered by Dr. Michał Lipian, a research staff member of our Institute.
The event serves as a platform for knowledge exchange among researchers and engineers working in areas such as aerodynamics, turbulence, multiphase flows, experimental techniques, CFD numerical modelling, micro- and nanofluidics, and applications of artificial intelligence in fluid mechanics. The programme features plenary lectures by distinguished experts, thematic sessions, poster presentations, and networking meetings that foster collaboration. Traditionally, the J.W. Elsner Competition for young scientists will also take place, recognising outstanding research achievements in the field of fluid mechanics.
