On Tuesday, 2 June at 12:15, in the W.R. Gundlach Auditorium, room 230, at 217/221 Wólczańska Street, a seminar will be held by Marco Tarchiani, a PhD candidate at the University of Florence. The topic of his presentation will be:

“Hydrogen Energy Research at the University of Florence”

Marco Tarchini is a PhD candidate at the University of Florence within the ARES research group. His research activities are primarily carried out at the Linea Laboratory, an experimental facility dedicated to the development and study of the hydrogen value chain, equipped with several test benches for advanced applications.

The laboratory focuses on the development and testing of centrifugal compressors, carried out in collaboration with Baker Hughes, alongside experimental studies on hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engines performed on three dedicated test benches. These two research areas represent the core technological platforms of the laboratory.

His personal research is equally focused on centrifugal compressor development and hydrogen engine experimental analysis, including the study of thermo-mechanical effects induced by hydrogen combustion, particularly the thermal stresses on piston crowns. In addition, he is involved in research activities on an full scale electrolyzer test bench, aimed at analyzing the degradation of the cells performance over time.

We warmly invite all interested participants to attend the event.
