On May 15, the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery at Lodz University of Technology will become a hub for discussions about the future of energy! We are pleased to host the Polish Combustion Institute, which during its seminar will bring together experts, innovations, and the latest research on combustion, energy safety, and hydrogen technologies. The event will showcase the newest directions in energy development as well as modern solutions related to fuel utilization and energy storage. The co-host of the meeting will be Dr. Eng. Artur Gutkowski, Associate Professor. Participants will explore several key areas of research and innovation:

  • New methods of biomass processing, including torrefaction as a way to improve fuel properties and enhance its energy potential.
  • Decarbonization of district heating, particularly through the use of the fuel properties of municipal waste as an alternative to fossil fuels.
  • Fire safety of energy storage systems, covering risks associated with modern storage technologies and methods of minimizing them.
  • Research aimed at improving the efficiency of Stirling engines, including heat recovery from exhaust gases and redesign of gas flow paths.
  • Development of hydrogen combustion technologies in aviation, featuring the first results of the NATO H2mJet project on a hydrogen combustor for jet engines.
  • Promotion of young researchers through the announcement of the results of the competition for the best doctoral dissertation in the field of combustion, followed by a presentation by the award winner.

The entire event focuses on innovation in energy, sustainable fuels, safety, and the future of combustion technologies, bringing together both the scientific and industrial communities.
