We are pleased to announce that Dr Maciej Podsędkowski from the Institute of Turbomachinery at Lodz University of Technology has been positively evaluated and qualified to participate in Phase I of the LIDER UP project, implemented by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR).

In the LIDER UP competition, Edition I, whose call for proposals was open from 17 February to 17 March 2026, a very large number of applications were submitted, from which the best projects with high implementation potential were selected. Dr Podsędkowski’s project, “DUMBO: Onboard Passive Acoustic Detection and Tracking System for Aircraft,” ranked second on the list, with a score of 31 points.

The LIDER UP programme supports young researchers in developing innovative ideas of significance for the economy and technology. Dr Podsędkowski’s project fits perfectly into this mission, combining advanced acoustics with modern methods of detection and signal analysis.

We congratulate him on this achievement and wish him every success in the subsequent stages of the project!
