The Doctoral Student Day at Lodz University of Technology brought success to our doctoral student, Mateusz Szydłowski, who won first place in the Lightning Talk competition.
On April 24, Lodz University of Technology hosted the Doctoral Student Day, organized by the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School under the theme “Diversity and Intercultural Dialogue.” The event brought together doctoral candidates representing various scientific fields, creating a space for exchanging experiences, presenting research, and integrating the community of young researchers.
One of the most exciting highlights of the program was the “Lightning Talk” competition, in which participants presented their research projects in dynamic three‑minute talks. Both the jury and the audience awarded the authors of the most inspiring presentations. We are pleased to announce that in this competition, first place in the doctoral student category was awarded to our doctoral candidate – MSc Eng. Mateusz Szydłowski. This distinction reflects the high quality of his research and his strong commitment to scientific development. We wish him continued inspiring discoveries, fruitful research, and further success along his academic path.
The workshop session also attracted considerable interest. Participants gained knowledge on topics such as invention commercialization, competition procedures, and preparing grant proposals. The session concluded with a practical workshop focused on using LinkedIn to build a personal brand and support academic career development.
The Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology has been operating for seven years and currently educates nearly 300 doctoral candidates across all scientific areas represented at the university. In addition to graduates of Lodz University of Technology, young researchers from other national and international academic institutions can also develop their competencies here.
