Prof. Liśkiewicz strengthens the European engineering community in the field of turbomachinery technologies.
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Eng. Grzegorz Liśkiewicz at the Institute of Turbomachinery of Lodz University of Technology, has obtained funding for the international project “Stodola Turbomachinery Academy: V4 Engineering Community for Energy Transition”. The initiative strengthens engineering cooperation within the Visegrad Group countries, focusing on modern turbomachinery technologies supporting the energy transition.
The project aims to create a platform for scientific and training collaboration for young engineers and researchers from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary. Its core activities will include developing competencies in modern turbomachinery technologies, diagnostics and stability of rotating machinery, CFD applications in the energy sector, low‑emission propulsion systems, and solutions supporting the green transformation of industry.
The project will be implemented in the form of a training academy, drawing on the tradition and achievements of the Stodola Turbomachinery Academy an initiative co‑created by Prof. Liśkiewicz and developed within the international IGTI‑4‑CEE community.
The Institute of Turbomachinery has long conducted advanced research on the stability of centrifugal compressors, active anti‑surge systems, and diagnostics of unstable flows. The team’s achievements are widely cited and serve as an important reference point in international research projects. The involvement of the Institute and thus Lodz University of Technology in this project further strengthens the university’s position as a regional center for turbomachinery research and a partner in European initiatives related to the future of energy.
The “Stodola Turbomachinery Academy” project will enable the organization of workshops, seminars, and summer schools, the exchange of experience among young researchers from V4 countries, and the development of joint research initiatives. Its implementation will become an important element in building an international engineering community focused on the challenges of the energy transition.
