Education of young people in the ITM in the field of wind energy under the Erasmus+ GREEN Generations program.
On February 24, at the Institute of Turbomachinery, we had the pleasure to host students from international groups participating in the Erasmus + Green Generations project. The visit took place in cooperation with the Jan Szczepaniak Electronic and Information Technology School Complex in Lodz, which participates in the Erasmus+ Gathering Resources to Educate and Empower new Generations project. The project is based on disseminating knowledge about Renewable Energy Sources, and the Lodz technical school is responsible for the part devoted to wind energy.
Wind energy is one of the key pillars of Europe's energy transition, and its development is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals promoted by the Erasmus+ Green Generations programme, which encourages students to get involved in projects related to environmental protection, renewable energy sources and technological innovations supporting a green future.
At our Institute, wind energy is an important area of research and didactics, focusing, among other things, on the analysis of wind turbine aerodynamics, flow modeling and optimization of rotor design, or research on the efficiency and reliability of wind systems. Thereforecombining the knowledge gained at the Institute of Turbomachinery with international Erasmus+ initiatives allows students to develop technical and ecological competences, participate in research projects and co-create solutions supporting the green transition.
Thanks to the kindness of our specialists, in particular Dr. Eng. Michał Lipian and Dr. Eng. Krzysztof Olasek, the students took the opportunity to get to know the Institute, participate in a lecture on the aforementioned subject and see the research laboratories. We hope that this visit has provided young people with valuable inspiration and will contribute to shaping their future passions and educational choices.
