Our Institute has organized a series of events for the Festival attendees.
On the day of 19th of April 2024 the employees of the Institute of Turbomachinery and the students of the GUST Scientific Association which operates under the Institute, have met groups of attendees from various schools which visited our University as a part of XXVIII Festival of Science, Technology and Art in Łódź - with its slogan for this year being: "Knowledge is my Passion."
The students from the Elementary School of Educational Society "EDUKACJA" in Łódź and the Kazimierz Wielki I High School in Łęczyca could attend laboratories conducted by dr inż. Michał Lipian and dr inż. Michał Kulak, to learn about acoustics and aerodynamics. The presentations were held in our Silence Chamber, a hall constructed in a way that limits reverberation, where various tests on the noise level and sound generation of various devices can be performed - such as the tests for the drone rotors. Students could also see the tests in low speed Aerodynamic Tunnel, which enables experiments on the flow of air around the models of wind turbines, planes and the rotors of helicopters and drones. Additionally, a presentation on the activities of GUST was given to our guests, showcasing their work on wind turbines for urban and suburban environments.
Then, on the 20th of April 2024, in the Manufaktura shopping mall complex, GUST, Lodz Solar Team and Iron Warriors student groups have organized an open meet-up with all people interested in the Festival, to present their work, successes and the results of their research projects.
