On the day 15th of October, in the Institute of Turbomachinery Lodz Solar Team presented a seminar: "iLumen European Solar Challenge 2024, 24 hours of challenges on the Circuit Zolder race track."

The team of students from Łódź University of Technology, LODZ SOLAR TEAM has earned the title of Vice-Champions of Europe and Champions of Poland during iLumen European Solar Challenge (iESC): a race of solar-powered vehicles in Belgium that has been concluded last Sunday (22.09).

A student's association from Łódź University of Technology has won in the final of International Small Wind Turbine Contest 2024 their innovative wind turbine has earned the first place in Sustainability category, It is a significant success for the project, and another merit it had received, proving the high quality and innovativeness of the projects of Polish students.

On 24th of May 2024, during an official session of the University Senate, prof. Zbigniew Kozanecki, who is a retired employee of our Institute, has received the title of Senior Professor of Łódź University of Technology.

On the day of 14th December 2023, at the age of 71 years old, passed away prof. dr hab. inż. Władysław Kryłłowicz.

A team of our students from the GUST project has won the final of International Small Wind Turbine Contest 2023. The innovative wind turbine design made by them has earned the first place in the contest, defeating the teams from Canada, the Netherlands, Egypt and Denmark. It's a historical success for GUST, which returns to the first place on the podium in the general category of the contest and proves the quality and creativeness of Polish student's projects. As an additional accolade, the project also reached the highest efficiency for annual energy production (AEP). GUST returns to Poland with two out of the three main prizes in the contest.

The students from Łódź University of Technology recently have become European Champions. Their car "Eagle Two" has managed to circle the racing circuit 140 times on one charge, during the iLumen Challenge in Belguim.

As a cooperative work of Polish and Turkish institutions assigned to the project, a domestic wind turbine that can be connected to and integrated with other renewable energy sources will be created. The project has been funded by NCBiR and the Turkish Council for Scientific and Technological Research who provided over 300 000 euro.
